R. Kelly Trial: Video Not Fake, Kelly’s Mole Visible

R. Kelly Trial: Video Not Fake, Kelly’s Mole Visible image
A forensic video expert took the stand yesterday at the R. Kelly trial to show that the sex tape in question could not be faked and to blow a hole in the defense’s argument that the man in the video was missing a small mole that Kelly has on his back. Grant Fredericks testified that it would take forty-four years of non-stop work to “fake” the video, and at times paused the video frame-by-frame to compare visuals of the man on the tape to Kelly and the location in question to photos of his home. Meanwhile, the other woman in the video’s threesome, who was supposed to take the stand yesterday, had her testimony delayed until early next week.

This got me to thinking about one of the many Patti Smith shows I've seen over the years, one that took place at about the same time as the riots over the World Trade Organization's conference here.

Jamie Lidell Launches Tour This Weekend image
Jiminy Cricket, it’s here! Not only is Jamie Lidell’s Jim in stores now, but the awesomely out-there Brit’s North American tour has arrived. Starting this weekend (Sunday, May 25 to be exact) in Vancouver, Lidell will don weird coats, put weird shit on his head, and emit weird noises into mics across the continent. We can’t wait. Opening duties will be shared by Stones Throw’s James Pants and Matador’s Jennifer O’Connor. What’s more, ol’ Jimmy has added a few non-North American dates (mostly festival appearances) to his itinerary to keep the good times going throughout the summer.
