International News: Fatboy Slim’s new side project album announced

Before he packs his Hawaiian shirts for Good Vibrations 2009, Norman Cook is set to release an intriguing new album under his alias The Brighton Port Authority. The man better known as Fatboy Slim has called on some friends in high places to lend their pipes to I Think We Need A Bigger Boat.

Among the collaborators are Iggy Pop (who seems to be on a run of surprising projects ), recent visitors Martha Wainwright and Dizzee Rascal, Jamie T, David Byrne and Pete York. He’s also hooked up with other electronic producers like X-Press 2’s Ashley Beedle and UK DJ Justin Robertson. Cook will release I Think We Need A Bigger Boat through his own Southern Fried Records in February, 2009.
